Who You Are / Your Next Challenge

We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute UK Head of Finance - International Payments to join our Finance team on a full-time / permanent contract, based in our London, Victoria Office. Reporting directly to the Manging Director of UK International Payments, this role will be critical in helping to drive the UK strategy as well as responsible for understanding the costs of the UK team.

You will be responsible for leading a progressive and responsive UK Finance Team that provides the CFO, UK CEO, Finance Director and the Senior Management Team across Moneycorp with incisive, value-adding financial support, financial planning and analysis for the UK business units. This will involve:

  • The provision of timely, accurate and relevant UK management information to all levels of management;
  • Regularly reviewing this information to make it aligned to the dynamic nature of the business and;
  • Producing monthly reports, critical review and interpretation of results and value-add analysis.

In addition, you will oversee the business’s day-to-day financial operations as well regulatory compliance, coordinating with external auditors, compliance and tax auditors as well as collaborating the plan with the UK business heads and FP&A and wider finance functions. This is to develop and mature a driver based model, essential for this area which will require understanding the costs and the cost drivers of the UK business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a small team of operational Finance Analysts who will provide services for the rest of the broader Finance area including but not limited to data, processes and documentation admin. You will also become heavily involved in project work to automate current procedures, improve the control environment, and will work with a number of senior people across the UK business and Group Finance team. Therefore, we are ideally looking for someone who is currently operating in Senior Finance role and has both sharp attention to detail and ability to see the bigger picture in mind as they will be tasked with ensuring accuracy but also improving efficiency.  

What we’re looking for / Skills that will help you in the role 

  • Significant experience producing written reports and presentation for the Board, CEO and Executive Committee.
  • Extensive experience building detailed models, managing budgeting and forecasts processes in a complex environment.
  • Ability to understanding the financial performance of business, the strategic business goals of an organisation which includes looking beyond the numbers for wider business context.
  • Demonstrable experience leading strategy development and execution management.
  • Entrepreneurial and ability to work in an agile fashion but also with discipline and structure.
  • Sound experience building a data cube to support BAU requirements and potential sale.
  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ideally either ACA or ACCA) or MBA, with evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Proven people management experience and lateral collaboration with other senior leaders in a firm.
  • Proficient at building relationships at all levels and influencing a range of senior stakeholders, challenging decision making to help drive continuous improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written), stay calm and work well under pressure to meet competing deadlines.
  • Solution-focused approach and the ability to make objective/ evidence based decisions and influence recommendations and decisions using insights.
  • Ability the ability to breakdown complex information to suit target audience.
  • Resilient to change, adapting to and supporting new situations with confidence.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with ability to think independently and draw conclusions.
  • Strong modelling and commercial analytic skills.
  • Ability and track record of leading vendor due diligence process.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take on a critical role with the Finance team, who is keen to get involved in multiple projects within an established growing international organisation, and provides amazing scope for both strategic and operational self-development.

Please note: This is a full-time, permanent contract position. The job is expected to be office-based in Victoria, London as part of the Finance team.
